Illuminance (Lux) Recommendation based on Areas & their Purposes

Lighting for areas of varying functions or purposes shall be designed based on different lux requirements. A general recommendation of average lux levels based on areas can be referenced from a non-exhaustive tabulation below. Different standards and requirements for different purposes provide lux level recommendation with illuminance measured at different heights. Generally, lux measurements are taken at table height, or approx. 750 mm from floor level.
